Yeah, they do. The pose is still faulty because he's holding too far down the magazine. If you look closely in that reference picture you can pretty obviously see his hand is at the top (one of his fingers is even on the lower handguard, like it should be if you're holding it like dat), and in the picture this is not the case. Thus, it is faulty. At least I think this is the case. I know little about guns, so go ahead and prove me wrong if you think otherwise.

I thought it wasn't proper to hold a gun from the magazine. From what I understand (and yes, I admit I have no military experience whatsoever) holding the barrel is good for reducing recoil.

Great pic by the way OP.[/QUOTE] After 60 rounds of rather casual fire from my No.4, the upper handguard is hot to the touch. If I blew 60 rapid it'd probably burn on contact. Wood is a pretty shitty conductor of heat, but if the barrel gets hot enough, so will anything near enough to it. That being said, he's holding the mag way too far down. Holding weapons by the mag is a dicey idea anyway (as it will cause the mag to wobble which can lead to feeding issues), but holding them that far down is just plain awkward.

I was about to say this didn't fit in the Garry's Mod section. Then I realised how perfect that editing was.
