Sadly I couldn't use shadows on this map. I have had that problem before, by enabling mat_specular 0 and 1 is tends to display shadows again. I think if shadows had worked on this map for me the picture would of been a bit nicer, but sadly that wasn't going to happen. I also am using a v_model for this one, I will definitely work on different camera angles, I used Adobe After Effects CS6 to add the Lens Flare effects and Dirty Overlay. Anyways i am open to an C&C. Good try for a non-edit.
Screenshot looks rather bland imo.
Good try for a non-edit.
Happyface [editline]29th January 2013[/editline] How do i make my work look cinematic like other people's. It looks like they used Source Filmmaker for it...
i smell potential work on your posing, lighting and composition
There's a lot of empty ground that's not being utilized. You should either fill it in with stuff or edit out the default sand texture. Also, don't use the stock explosion effect.

It isn't spawnable so you'll have to use a grenade then slow the timescale or something like that (or just time it really well), but honestly I think it'd be better if you just kept away from hectic scenes like this and did something more low-key, i.e. something without any explosions. Once you get those kind of pics down and start making some cool stuff, then you might be able to get someone to edit in a much better-looking explosion or perhaps learn to edit yourself, and then you can start going for the big action scenes like this one. I think you've got potential, but it's best to start from something simple and work your way up.

set host_framerate to about 500, throw a grenade, go to the camera and wait for it
set host_framerate to about 500, throw a grenade, go to the camera and wait for it
do you mean timescale? and it would only crash my garrysmod
Interesting
Interesting
Indeed.
do you mean timescale? and it would only crash my garrysmod
no, I mean host_framerate
This is neat. A odd angle but that's ok.
