The artistic beauty of this shot is astounding. From a feminist perspective, the symbolism of Rochelle being attached to the ceiling, obviously referring to the chaining of women to patriarcal society, is conveyed flawlessly. It could also be seen as a metaphor for the 'glass ceiling' that many women face in the world of work although in this case it is a concrete ceiling, symbolising that the situation may in fact be more severe than most would think.
