These images do have an impact but only to those that were still around then, like myself.

That first image is still around on garrysmod.org though, I've seen it a few times.

I do miss some of these old pictures. Since we didn't have the models back then, it was all about editing - either artistic or (like RileyB) photorealistic.

I dunno if I've mentioned this before, but I've actually been saving screens I like (either artistic, realistic, or just well-edited - even if they're generic) over my time on FP. I took a couple of long breaks so I didn't get every thread, but I have what must be fast approaching 5,000 pictures from 2007, late 2008, and all the years from then until the present day. If my internet wasn't so shit I'd consider uploading them to a new directory on my FTP and getting the mods to slap the link in the section's sticky.
