A little project I did to improve my shading shit, nothing drastic.

It's a nice edit n' all,
there's just no background.
Which takes away a lot of the interest.
Still a nice pose n' edit though.

in the dark
Well background or not! I like it. Nice overall light. It works for the purpose even if simple.

I'm no lighting expert but even though he's in the dark, the light from his torch / lantern would normally cast some shadows and hit whatever is around him, causing the light to bounce off the objects and light stuff up. However I'm not sure how you'd make such an effect.
This is awesome

I didn't want to go that far yet, I just wanted to create shadows and lighting effects on a simple single character to see if I could actually do it, and the product came out pretty satisfactory. I believe to create light bouncing off objects, you would actually need to scene build a bit, or have some preset map props in the back with some ingame lamps pointing towards it, but like I said, I didn't want to do that yet for it's something I would like to tackle later on. I only use Photoshop every once in a while, so I try to brush up every now and then.
And for the pitch black background, I just took the dark room in gm_construct to create the abyssal darkness behind Simon. It was supposed to give out that mysteriousness and the "What's in the dark?" vibe; something you and Simon share when playing Cry of Fear.
