I've have had the idea of a crossover since the beginning of 2012, and now might be time to make it a reality in GMod. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you WarZone: EARTH, my Garry's Mod crossover project.

Not much details will be revealed at this time, but I will discuss the story I intend to tell and the original characters I will be including.
Story
The story is set in an alternate reality of the Half Life 2 universe, with the events of Episodes 1 and 2 happening differently then they did in the REAL Half-Life universe. In this reality, the Resistance is aided by various video game characters against the Alliance, made up of various villainous factions from different universes, including the Reapers (Mass Effect), Combine (Half-Life 2), Cerberus (Mass Effect, controlled by the Reapers), Hyperion (Borderlands 2. Will include these guys when more models are ported to Garry's Mod.) and many more. The series begins two weeks before the events of Half-Life 2, when a strange light is seen above a Combine-occupied Earth, combining different universes across time and space into one universe, a universe suffering the chaos of war. This series will be set on Earth, but I might make more WarZone series if this one proves successful.
Characters
While there will be fictional characters from various video games, I will be including some of my own original characters into the mix, including:
Benjamin (Age: 27) - Benjamin was too young to remember how the world lost it's freedom to the Combine, but he's smart enough to resist them in every way. He lived a normal life in City 17 (even under the Combine's rule), until his family was slaughtered when he was 20. After that, he eventually swore revenge on the Combine, and immediately joined the Resistance. His actions earned him the admiration of many rebels, who see him as a leader.
Angela (Age: 24) - Angela lost her parents during the Seven Hour War, but was saved by a mysterious individual, who looked after her as she grew older. She eventually joined the Resistance at the age of 22, when she helped a group of rebels escape City 17 who were carrying some secret intel about a Combine occupied dock, which the Resistance eventually liberate. Her interest in saving lives helped her excel in her role as a medic, but even then, she looks back on the people she couldn't save. She's involved in a romantic relationship with Benjamin, and wonders if there could be a brighter future after Earth is freed from the Combine.
Ryan (Age: 26) - Benjamin's childhood friend before the Seven Hour War, Ryan had a very tough life. Unlike Benjamin and Angela, Ryan's parents weren't killed, but they were arrested when they tried to resist and escape City 17. Ryan never knew what happened to them, until he learns that they were transformed into Stalkers, and became slaves of the Combine. Joining the Resistance at the age of 19, he experienced 7 years of intense fighting, and even considered himself lucky to be the only surviving rebel during an attempted assault on Nova Prospekt. Ryan believes that the world will only change once the Combine are banished from Earth, and even blames Black Mesa for their arrival, but he still continues to fight and keep hope.
(Throughout the series, there will be many more original characters that Benjamin, Angela and Ryan will meet, along with the fictional characters as the war progresses.)
Locations

The series will visit many locations across Earth, including:
City 17 - Where the events of Half-Life 2 took place, and home to Wallace Breen.
Black Mesa East - The Resistance's base before the Uprising.
White Forest - The Resistance's main base after Black Mesa East was raided and captured.
Elysium - One of the last cities on Earth outside of the Alliance's jurisdiction.
City 8 - One of the many cities that were have established around the world after the Seven Hour War.
City 25 - Same as City 8 above.
(More locations will be added as soon as I come up with them.)

You Can Help!
Since this project is so massive, I honestly think that one person won't be able to accomplish such a feat alone. I will be working on a comic series (which starts this weekend), but you guys can help (if you want to, I'm not forcing you or anything!). It can be anything you want, from a comic series or screenshot(s) to small clips or full length videos. You choose what you want to create, and add it to this thread. I might even upload my comic series to deviantart, to avoid any troubles I might face here, but the first few strips will be published here, so I can get any advice on what I can do to make things better (I'm a noob at posing.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me know what you think, and I can't wait to show you what I've got planned for this series. PM me if you're interested in helping out, and I will list you in a collaborator list.

I know, I couldn't make the faces more realistic. Like I've said before, I suck at posing (faces included.)
you should probably improve more before tackling such a large project imho
As someone who has several cross-over stories running through his head 24/7, I can see some potential in this. I agree with Cone about the posing, but, otherwise, I see no reason to quit. Good luck with this.
Like Cone said, get some more skill in posing before tackling big things, it helps in the long run.

That's what I might do. Any tips for posing?
Heh, I'm gonna sound like a cynic but I don't mean to. You remind me of a younger me when I was beginning (back in 2007), I also wanted to tackle a big, huge project and asked for help of the community, but it didn't exactly work out because it was too ambitious and I didn't really dazzle anyone with my pitch. I'm hoping your case will be a lot more successful, however!
Tell you what, I don't exactly have the time right now and I have a comic project of my own to do next February (not to mention continuing The Adventures of Hercule Cubbage), which involves help from a few friends and will take some time to coordinate, but I'll see if I can spare the extra time to offer my contribution to your project. Seeing as, beginning next month, I'll have a lot more spare time, I'm hoping to bring the comic making fad back somehow and I'll do what I can to support it - so, I want you to succeed and bring something new to the table. If you'd be interested in the help of a so-so comic maker, I'll contact you next month so we can discuss this further.

Sure. Okay.
I can tell you're really interested by the number of words you've used.
I can tell you're really interested by the number of words you've used.
It's not that. It's just I couldn't figure out what word I could use to reply.
It's not that. It's just I couldn't figure out what word I could use to reply.
Heh, that's okay, I'm just kidding. I'm not really expecting a parade or anything, I'm not a big-name comic maker like the cool dudes from yesteryears. I'll see what you do, give you some constructive pointers if I see fit, and then as I work on my own stuff I'll note down any ideas I might have for WarZone: EARTH. The concept is sound and there's a lot of ground to explore, so I'm sure I'll come up with something.
Also, considering what I saw in one of the last crossovers back when PHW existed and wasn't absolute crap, be careful with continuity. If a lot of people do jump in, it's bound to happen that stuff gets contradicted left and right. Say, you're doing your own comic and you have big plans for Commander Shepard, but then someone jumps in and kills off Shepard. I have a few ideas of how to avoid that, but I'll let you figure out what you want to do.
One last thing: if it turns out you singlehandedly bring back GMod comics [del]and steal my thunder[/del], I'll [del]murder you in your sleep first chance I get[/del] throw you a party! Excuse me, I gotta go take my passive-agressiveness pills...

OK. Thanks for the advice.
I am going to spend all day tomorrow practising my posing, then see if I can whip up a few concept shots.
You should also look at some tutorials on how to make logos, red text is just not cutting it. And I understand the interest in focusing on posing, but editing is usually what's worse about comics.

OK, thanks. I'll work on a new logo and replace the current one on Monday.
You're welcome; in fact, I'm sorry if I'm meddling too much, I don't mean to be condescending or anything. Really just trying to help. I'd even do a logo proposal myself but I just can't afford the time right now... :(

It's okay. I have to learn anyway if I'm to work on more projects in the future.
Just want everyone to know that I MIGHT be writing a fanfic about this crossover over at fanfiction.net. I'll let you know when the first chapter is up.
Personally, i would work on posing and editing before you do take on this project.
I would improve as well, I tried making a comic series before I knew how to edit, never went anywhere.
Since you're mentioning editing, here's a tutorial I made a few years back, I don't think I've linked it here.
OK. here's an update, as well as a roster, to who will be in the series. (This roster will expand over time, so keep watching for updates. I might pin it to the OP for everyone to see.)
I'm going to take the advice of everyone here and practice my posing and editing skills, before I post screenshots and begin the comic series. (Thanks to Mythos for linking his comic layout tutorial, I'll check it out as soon as my posing gets better.)
Because of this practice, don't expect anything else to come out until at LEAST February, maybe March, but I will see if I can post some concept shots during the weekend.
Here's the current roster of characters:
Original
Benjamin
Angela
Ryan
Fictional
Alyx Vance, Barney Calhoun and the rest of the Half-Life 2 cast
Commander Shepard and the rest of the Mass Effect cast
Samus Aran
Master Chief
Lightning
Delta Squad ( Both squads from Star Wars: Republic Commando and Gears of War)
Resident Evil characters
Alliance Leaders (And their respective factions)
Wallace Breen - Combine
Illusive Man - Cerberus
You're welcome, I hope you can put it to good use. Good luck with your comic, I'll be looking forward to it. Also, you could always toss Wesker into the Alliance.

Thanks for the luck. I'll also consider adding Wesker, if I can find a model.
Anyone else I should add? Note: Since this project is about a war, I'll only include people who know how to use a gun. On a side-note, I WON'T be including the Team Fortress 2 cast, because I think that they're overused.
Added the roster to the OP.
Okay. By the way, I think double posting is frowned upon around here though, especially for a bump, but I'm not sure.

Right. Sorry.
Note: THIS IS NOT A BUMP!
I've just want to apologize for the lack of media since the project was announced. This is a really ambitious project, and I haven't really had the time to practice my posing and whatnot. I am still trying to get some ideas of what is going to happen in the series as well, and I've only come up with one event so far.
I have promised time and time again that I would post some concept pictures, but school is keeping me away from my computer for most of the day, and I've haven't been able to officially finish one shot.
I have ONE concept shot ready to go, but I'll want to tweak some of the posing before I post it here, and I'll be working on a few more over the weekend.
I'm sorry about the lack of concept screenshots, but I should be able to practice my posing long enough before I officially begin the first comic series in April-May. Thank you for your understanding.
Update
Hello!
I've done some thinking, and I've decided to tweak the story a bit. The story now starts 3 weeks before the events of Half Life 2, and as a result, the events of Episodes 1 and 2 will happen, but only slightly different.
I've done a couple of concept screenshots today, showing off two scenes set during the events of Episode 1. If you head to the deviantart pages, read the descriptions to find out what's going on. As always, any C&C is appreciated. Thanks!

what is the appeal of this cross-over bullshit? I like Star Wars and I like Half Life and I like little fuzzy critters but Alyx having a lightsabre duel with Darth Bane on top of a giant wallaby would seem more a mockery of each rather than an enhancement. I just don't get it.
