• Possibly new suspension?

Finally with the completion of my complete of my final zscm engine (hydro engine mentioned previously in the forum) I went on to build something similar to a striker. I tried to take the idea of the abrams and striker tortion suspension and simulate it in gmod via ropes an axises with great success. If interested I'm up to sharing, I don't know if its been made yet, but if not hurray.
It's [media*]youtubelink[/media*]. Without the stars. [editline]21st May 2011[/editline] And btw tortionbars such as what's presented in your video has been done before.
Torsion bar suspension :buddy: I remember when I discovered it while welding doors and wheels together as a noob. So yeah no this is not a new method :|
Ok thanks for the heads up. Meh at least it works nice with my max weight vehicles.
Ok thanks for the heads up. Meh at least it works nice with my max weight vehicles.
I'm sure it does. After all, it's used for heavy vehicles.
I'm a noob... Tutorial please?? :saddowns:

Done before, I think it was often used on tanks. Yours works pretty smoothly tho.
Done before, I think it was often used on tanks. Yours works pretty smoothly tho.
Real tanks before any tank created in garry's mod. We promote contraptions leaning against minimizing lag. A tortion bar suspension on evey wheel would simply increase lag. I am, as well as many others, satisfied with weight suspension.
as stated before, anything other than weight suspension isn't required on tanks unless your aiming system is total shit (no stabilization)
as stated before, anything other than weight suspension isn't required on tanks unless your aiming system is total shit (no stabilization)
Under 20mph, it's ok. I use a suspension since I tend to go zippy-fast spot-to-spot, then hunker down and shoot hull-down.

Oh, and this is before "stabilizing" the seat with adv bs. Weight sus just feel weird. Like driving a brick.

[editline]24th May 2011[/editline] actually do
mp/h
miles per per hour
That's how I read it.
Miles derp hour
How the fuck did you do that?? also what map is that?
gm_vehicleconstructv2. The suspension's E2 I might post sometime later. It's using wire hydraulics and feedback loops.
If only that thing had realistic tank steering :saddowns:
Funny you mentioned that...I actually modded the drive chip recently (two days ago) to give it steering in proportion to velocity. So Shift, W, or W+Shift acts as essentially gears, with each "gear" having a set proportional steering speed, as well as a low-speed neutral steer. :science: A few months ago fallschirmjaager experimented with using wire clutches and a forcer motor for realistic steering...no idea how that went.
Not quite sure what you're trying to say but okay
Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnope lol.
:frog: Is there any purpose to your commentary? Because seriously, you come off like a really sad excuse for a troll. :saddowns: [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] My new one's based off of a 3-speed trans w/ doublediff; the old one is based on feedback-type hydrostatic. Any realism to your steering?
:downs:
