"Walking Pace" that order was repeated down along the trench. We are to move into No Man's Land at a Walking Pace. Prior to the attack most of us shook hands with one another, some recited prayers and took swigs of rum and tea, the rest of my lads just stared into oblivion; the usual business before venturing into No Man's Land. The whistle blew. The Captain climbed the ladder and disappeared over the top, two other lads follow up and I start my climb. God Help me what I will face beyond this ladder.
Worked on shading in Gimp, the explosion was cut out from this. Nice, thanks for reference pic, you made a very nice pose sir.

explosion is cut off at the top, looks pretty nice though
I actually think it needs more explosions/tracers, as in that time it was raining artillery shells 24/7. And very nice shading on the guys, allthough you should have toned down the rifles a bit because they stand out a lot now.
I wouldn't say it was raining artillery 24/7. There would often be prolonged periods of time wherein neither side would fire upon their enemy. There were also short periods where there would be relentless shelling and firing. [editline]08:46AM[/editline] As for the screenshot, I think it is very well done. You rarely see WW1 poses. Especially british poses.
Nice work but i think you should replace the face of some soldiers with a faceposable face then it's should looks epic and realistic! :D How do you get the Enfield rifle? D:
Nice work but i think you should replace the face of some soldiers with a faceposable face then it's should looks epic and realistic! :D
Why? Their faces aren't even facing the camera.
Nice, were did you get the models form gmod.org?
Why? Their faces aren't even facing the camera.
For the guy who faces the camera of course! ^^ (I'm still looking for the rifle model :3)
Cool idea and story. Good screenshot, though I don't like how you cut out the explosion, it just doesn't fit.
Anyone have other good blast textures/images?
i like the image what map are you useing where you get the rifle ?

Also God Bless you for making a WWI pose that is also very well done.
