I know, AA is low, I fucked up and had it really low while I was playing online, forgot to turn it back on, and didn't save the scene.
Proof of what would have been a better scene build if I had AA.

Why did you put grass on the street and why is one sand bag pile covered in snow?
why is there grass and bushes in front of a downtown clothing store?
why is there grass and bushes in front of a downtown clothing store?
3 years without anyone to cut the weeds.
Why did you put grass on the street and why is one sand bag pile covered in snow?
I think it's the angle and lighting for the sand bag.
3 years without anyone to cut the weeds.

Where's his dog?

But if you look at the build angle you can clearly see there is snow on it :P
But if you look at the build angle you can clearly see there is snow on it :P
Well...I obviously fail at clicking sandbags and not paying attention.
And what dog?
It was an "I am Legend" reference.
It was an "I am Legend" reference.
Never seen it. I apologize.
Never seen it. I apologize.
Really!? I thought that's what you were referencing when you said the grass wasn't cut for three years.
Really!? I thought that's what you were referencing when you said the grass wasn't cut for three years.
No, I was just thinking about some out of place town in France under German control where the grass hadn't been cut for awhile.
But why would grass be growing in the street?
Cracks in the street, bullet holes, various other things could cause it.
It needs soil to grow in, cobblestone streets don't have much of that.
Well think it as there is soil right next to cobblestone street and then there is road for cars etc. right next to that soil.
It needs soil to grow in, cobblestone streets don't have much of that.
Actually grass and other plants can grow completely without soil. They often grow on rocks, and in stone.
Actually grass and other plants can grow completely without soil. They often grow on rocks, and in stone.
But they do have a little layer of soil over the rock.
Never seen it. I apologize.
Then go see it right now
Prop choices are poor, as Uberslug has stated with the grass.
Very unlogical, Random grass and AA is crap.
Posing is okay I guess.

He's right, seeds can fall into the cracks of rock and then when it rains the water falls into the cracks aswell.
I think its called biological erosion. :science:
Anyway back to the picture, you really really need to turn that AA up, and get a better camera angle.

Like I stated in the OP, the AA was my fault, and the grass and plants could grow in the streets/sidewalks/cobblestones. I've seen it happen myself.
A hedge couldn't grow out a sidewalk. It would take years to grow a hedge that big anyway.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with the choice of props. Point is: there _could_ be grass and hedges growing in the middle of the street. And no one is requesting realism in these pictures anyway? And if you want realism; why is there no smoke coming out of his cigarette?
Overall I think it's quite nice picture, but with AA it'd been alot better.
[Edit]
Thank you for the boxes <3
Picture's quality is so low.
Picture's quality is so low.
Yeah, I know, we've addressed that, I fucked up the AA.
A hedge couldn't grow out a sidewalk. It would take years to grow a hedge that big anyway.
3 years enough time for a hedge to grow that big? :q:

A hedge that big could never grow out of concrete, take an ecology class.
A hedge that big could never grow out of concrete, take an ecology class.
LOL no one needs to take an ecology class to see things out in nature. You should probably check your facts before trying to dish out insults as well. Its obvious that we arent the only ones around here that didnt take an ecology class.
Tree growing out of a rock mountain..

Tree growing on solid rock...

Oh i know you will say that the roots go down to the ground and thats how it happened, so here is a pic to disprove that. This tree as well as all the BUSHES and GRASS in the back ground is growing on a solid granite mountain. The roots would have to grow hundreds of feet down to ever hit dirt.

This one is probably the best, we have hundreds of roads like this in florida. Builders layout the neighborhood then no one buys homes or land. Or they run out of money, so the streets end up like this. In florida because of the water table pavement must be atlast 18 inches thick to keep it from collapsing from sink holes. This is an abandoned two lane road.

ON TOPIC: Your picture looks good to me, and i see nothing in in that isnt possible. I dont think its snow on the sand bags, looks like some lighting to me.
Soil is under concrete and when concrete breaks it forms cracks and some how plants grow. D:
