Here is a simple pose of Zoey and Makarov... er, Nick. with guns.
Took about 20 minutes to pose and 40 minutes to find a fuckin' angle.
A basic hair edit was also done.

Nah, he aint reloading. as an owner of an AK i can tell you it's much easier to operate one if you keep your hand on the magazine and use it as a grip.

I aimed the ironsights up with his eye to get the AK height, and yeah it aint on his shoulder cause his collar kept clipping. :\

Gripping your magazine like that feels pretty uncomfortable, atleast for me. I have actually never seen anyone firing an AK/any of its clones like that. Although people do grip the mag, they grip it from higher, where the mag is attached to the gun, the crossing point.
But I guess it's a nice pose. Although Zoeys face looks odd somehow.

Yeah i've seen people do that as well, but it's more of a personal preference, i prefer holding it down low while shooting.

True. Although if you hand is in same position/angle as with Nick, the recoil'll be stronger as you are able to offer less resistance to it.

Makarov-er, Nick, is holding the AK in an odd way. It doesn't seem to be touching his shoulder, and holding the mag for a grip in a situation like that is a [b]really[/b] bad idea. If he disrupts the spring at all (which is easy to do when you hold it that way), he'll jam up.
Anyways, the posing looks pretty good. Zoey's face looks a little odd, but that may be just me.
Holding AK over the magazine is a bad idea. Very bad. It will fucking jam, and you will be dead. AK's "invulnerability" is nothing more than a myth. If you will hold it's magazine, beat it over a wall or floor while firing, it will jam. Just like any other weapon. That's the reason why soldiers holding it where it's meant to be held.
Anyway, you CAN hold it like that, it's your own risk.

If you have quality magazines and training, you won't disrupt the spring and it wont jam, the magazine is nothing more than a box with rounds being funneled into the chamber, and it locks into the magwell nice and tight.

Like i said again, i do it while shooting and it's fine, I've seen suarez and spetsnaz hold it the same way aswell.. so eh.

Ive fired a Romanian AK and I held the clip but only while I had it resting on a table and I held it at the bottom.
From where he is holding soon as he pulls the trigger he will hit the clip release.
Oh and just noticed thumb is clipping through clip.

hes thumb is wrapped between the [b]MAGAZINE[/b] and the release lever, therefore, he will push against it and cause the [b]MAGAZINE[/b] to not release.
It's a solid picture, I've give you that, but i had to agree with some guys here that Nick's hand or wrist seems a bit weird, like he's holding a tommy gun instead of an AK. But I still like it. I give you a wood.

Key words. Funneled into the chamber. I don't know what kind of AK you've fired, but I've tested alot of AK's myself, and it will jam. One wrong move while holding like that - it jams. You know, in the firefight, you are never standing still. You are moving. Really fast. Or you catch the bullet.

Ak-47 has well... bad recoil. The spring on it recoils that damn thing everywhere, so if your going for long shots it's kinda acceptable to hold the magazine. Shit I hold the magazine on my Enfield... well i'm a girl and holding that Enfield is really heavy :c.
