Prologue Well, I really couldn't think of a good way to end this one, and I can't decide on an editing style. Don't worry if you're confused, you're not meant to know much at this point. Also, it's still short I know, but I really didn't want to add any more as that would have meant introducing more story elements and characters, which I think would be detrimental to things overall. One step at a time, folks. Click for full size. I went through all that ultra difficult bbcoding to allow you such a luxury, you goddamn ingrates. Nice :D
Why thank you my good man. I messed up a few things, though, and any constructive criticism anyone has is appreciated.
Quite nice, yet i find it hard to see who the story is focusing on. Posing is high quality stuff though.

This is going to get worse as more characters are introduced, so I'll have to think of something. Still, thanks for the reply, particularly as I hate my posing which I can be incredibly lazy with at times. Let's just say there's a reason you rarely see characters from the waist down.
Good story and posing. Also, where did you find those metrocop models?

Well when it comes to posing and editing it looks good. However. The title. Deus ex machina? I don't really think that anything about this story fits a "deus ex machina".
Interesting as the story is, I have to agree with Strogg.
Well when it comes to posing and editing it looks good. However. The title. Deus ex machina? I don't really think that anything about this story fits a "deus ex machina".
To quote Wikipedia:
A deus ex machina (pronounced /ˈdeɪ.əs ɛks ˈmɑːkiːnə/ or /ˈdiː.əs ɛks ˈmækɨnə/,[1], DAY-əs eks MAH-kee-nə) (Latin for "god from the machine"; plural: dei ex machina) is a plot device whereby a seemingly inextricable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new character, ability, or object.
As the story progresses you'll see how this fits. EDIT: Also, it sounds cool.
I certainly hope you deliver. Because, honestly, now it just seems as if you picked a "cool-sounding" name that's pretty overused.

Hopefully if I can justify itself properly not many people will care. :D EDIT: Fortunately, if I ever do decide to change the series title, it's in a little white section at the bottom of the comic which will allow easy cropping and replacing. Good thinking, me!
How about Cogito, Ergo Sum if you want latin and overused. It's kind of the credo for any rebellion against a collective mind.
How about Cogito, Ergo Sum if you want latin and overused. It's kind of the credo for any rebellion against a collective mind.
Descartes doesn't really seem that relevant :P I'll keep it as it is for now.
Who the fuck cares about the author when we're quotin him. Meaning, how well does the quote fit in with your story, rather than the person who said it.
Who the fuck cares about the author when we're quotin him. Meaning, how well does the quote fit in with your story, rather than the person who said it.
Primarily because to me, Cogito ergo sum (I think, therefore I am) is a statement that isn't so much worried about the rebellion against a collective mind as it is Descartes establishing his own existence by establishing that the very fact that he can think and doubt his own existence indicates that he does exist on some level. It just doesn't seem that relevant, is all, especially as our merry band of characters are more concerned over the oppresive Universal Union and the murdered Metrocop than whether or not they exist... Of course I might be wrong, but that's what I gathered when we studied his texts. Besides, it's just a title. What's the big deal?
