1. The lighting was hard to get down, to get it bright enough to see everything I had to put the lamp in her face or the zombies'. So I had to end up just going with the really dark feel.

the reason why the lighting isn't bright enough is because the lamp color is blue.
There's no "2" of which you speak.
Up the contrast/brightness then, so we can see more.
For what I can see the posing is fine.
I had another picture but the other zombie got in the way and totally screwed up the shadowing.. There we're 2 more zombies and it looked better. I didn't use the white light because it was too bright.
