Those loincloth things and the helmet tufts combined with the ember edit really do a whole lot for this pic. A bit of motion blur on the ejecting shells would've been nice, as well.

the aliasing is pretty apparent in some areas, but other than that it's great.

Only thing that bothered me a bit was pixelation and seemingly AA/noise quality. So I just had to give it a fixing shot in photoshop:
