You shouldn't darken pictures like that. It results in flat lighting and gray highlights.
Oh and this is nothing compared to Moquito's stuff, don't worry.

Yeah I thought darkening it would do that. Also, I tried to look at some of Mosquito's pictures, and I know he is freaking pro at gore. Just want some help on how to improve...
