It's his son. He finished him years after he realized he'd never have a son of his own without help from another human, so he decided he would build him since the materials were laid out infront of him. It's a start and he's still working on his legs but his son occasionally helps him put out fires, sap sappers, and other stuff his dad is annoyed with.
