I saved this scene in Photoshop, if anyone can give me some tips on how I can make this scene much better, I would love to know.

You've gotta apply the JJ Abrams filter - massive amounts of bloom and lens flares.

The explosion looks like a big muzzleflash, and the head of the guy in the right should be up, but you nailed the rest, looks pretty good

It actually is an over-sized muzzle flash.
