We hope you enjoy the film. If you'd like to help out on future ABP projects, please let us know! We're always recruiting new crew.
Great job you guys. I loved the video, finally something real on Facepunch....
Here's a little constructive criticism from me, just some thoughts:
- Loved the noir look to it, gave that ominous feeling to the film
- The narrators voice was perfect, spot on
- The story was ok, nothing to interesting but enough to keep you watching
- There are some spots in the script I would have fixed up but nothing to major.
- Some of the camera angles didn't work
- Also I felt like you could have added more shots at some parts.
- Need a lot more enthusiasm in your voice actors... They were a little bland. Take the scene right out side of Vasconti’s restaurant when Vasconti gets shot. One Vinnie's voice didn't really match his character felt really out of place and two he was very boring when he talked.
- Needs some quicker cutting in some scene's
But I think you guys did a great job on it, best in a long time. Can't wait for the next one
Thanks Captain Ringo. I appreciate the constructive crit. There's always room for improvement.
Work on your pacing.
I remember Clockwork!
Anyway, I like the style, but there's just something that bugs me for some reason... if you're gonna use black and white, you might as well age the image in other ways as well
wow that was amazing. Never saw clockwork but this was good
I think you could of done better with the filters for black and white.
Saw a lot of artifacts (IE screwed up textures and some place it was too dark and too light).
Also the green screen in some arts seemed a little rough at points, Alittle uneeded too, like the part were he shoots people, could of easily been captured with out a greenscreen.
+ some of the animations went to quickly.
But a little blast to the past, reminds me of good ole machinma
Really cool, how did you make the scene where the police man talked? With mouth movements? Faceposer?
I really like this, the pace and setting are spot on for the style you've chosen.
The choice of colour on the sign at the end I felt brought you out of the moment a little as that colour didn't really "match". it's probably easier to explain than I'm making it, but I think it would have been better just to leave the sign in black and white.
The story is obviously going to be developed which will make this episode fit much better and will most likely improve peoples opinions of it, always the curse with being the first in a series is you can't pack too much story in, but untill you release the rest it doesn't make much sense.
Kudos and making something that's interesting and fun to watch, I can't wait for the next installment!
Ignore my comment about story, I just watched clockwork and now it makes sense to me. Great story, keep it up!
The chase sequence was a real pain to film, I wish there was a way to animate the cars in-game without having to drive them or use an external editor.
I'm glad most of you seem to be enjoying the film. Good job, Nefarious.

You could possibly use an npc_vehicledriver entity but it would require custom mapping. Alternatively you could get the model and attach it to a func_train but this would only be good for relatively simple driving sequences such as driving down a straight road.
Got to say I love the film. Pacing and atmosphere is great and I can't wait to see more of the series.
