• Question: Mixing Frames Into Live Video

One thing I've noticed in Dasboschitt's "Gmod Idiot Box" is that some scenes have video footage of a person moving his/her arm while the face poser continues to change by frames as if it was taken by screenshots. An example (@ 2:16): Any clue how this is done? Would be certainly appreciated...
it's done by masking
it's done by masking
I've been wondering about this too making the mouth move while other things are moving in the background. I've also been wondering how he makes the action seem so comical like kicking the door down and shoving people out of the way? does he speed up the action in the editor? cause thats what I think.
my video exsample- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U23J3WZ_Gg Its best to do it in after effects, because you can mask with a pen tool type of mask, you can move it around if needed and blur it if needed. Every single person except for the ragdoll, was played by me at different times. You need to have a static camera and record the 2 different movements at different times and if any 2 objects get in the way of each other, you have to mask every single frame, so if you don't want the work, make sure they don't overlap. I actually had to do that with my test video.

Yes, exactly Be sure your ragdoll's face does not move and is never covered, then take several screenshots for each expression, then add them
