Aside from that, snow lacks any depth whatsoever. I will say that the hobo fire owns, though; did you paint that on yourself, or photosource it?

Snow never looks like that in low light photographs. Unless it's being taken with a zoom lens from behind a window, flakes would be falling directly in front of the photographer, creating the haunting and distinctive effect you see below:

Yes. Have further layers of ever-shrinking particle size in the background, while leaving only a few large ones on a layer above the foreground.

You forgot to mention the lighting on the snow drawing darker as the snow fades backwords into the background. He did use shrinking particles to some extent, he just didn't put enough layers on it to make it look realistic.
I don't know what you're trying to convey with your second paragraph, though. I just asked you a simple question and you went off the handle. I'm not talking down to you Ross, I would just like to see you give an explanation for your criticism. You spent more time trying to criticise me than you did to productively criticise his work. Two guys, standing in the snow, warming their hands while talking about how they stole Master Chief's gun. I like the picture, but like others said, the snow could use some smaller particles to give the feeling of depth. Also it kind of looks like you missed some spots while you were blurring around the pistol. I like the glow on the helmets too.
