So yeah, this one is kinda boring, I know. I haven't slept for like 26 hours, and I just wanted to make a pose, so without further a-do. Here it is! lol i know you can do better than this
Does anyone know why that gun is so damn pixely?
Give him a better name than just Infiltrator. Your shots are still good but it's getting... Dead. You've pretty much done this one or two times too many.
i find the sudden line of blur to be unsettling.
Give him a better name than just Infiltrator. Your shots are still good but it's getting... Dead. You've pretty much done this one or two times too many.
I hear ya, I guess It'd boost my inspiration if I posed some random pics
Hairy, the reason for it being pixely is probably this: It's SUPER high res and the game/engine is not adapted to such high resolution textures and high poly models.
Honestly, the line of blur kinda kills it. Great posing, though. Smoke also need some work.
Yeah, the DoF you added (that's what i thought it was) was way too friggin sudden. Ease it up more (with a gradient?) Also, the gun pixel thing should somehow be made better; Don't ask how. With that in mind, everything seems very nice, but you could use a lil more inspiration in the context.
The smoke is a bit distracting.
Simple DoF and the shadow the infiltrator's casting makes it look like the background is a flat plane that's two feet behind him.
You have done much much better
The smoke and the Simple DOF just cutting off like that ruins it, the posing's very nice though.
Where can i get that nick?
Dead? I don't know about you fuzzy but I really enjoy these screenshots, I say keep them going.
Why can no one get names right? His username is FUSSY! not fuzzy.
Do you wish for me to edit it then or leave it be?
Do you wish for me to edit it then or leave it be?
You should edit it.
Since everyone has decided to comment on the line of blur, I shall comment on the cigar. Smoke looks good BUT unfitting. It would look great in a Movie Promo type pic like in a James Bond intro. Smoke goes way too high, usually tobacco smoke would have dispersed. It's also too thick, needs to be more whispy and thin. There's also no cherry on the cigar so it wouldn't be smoking very much if not at all.
The DoF and horribly executed smoke ruin this, otherwise it would've turned out alright [editline]09:16AM[/editline]
Hairy, the reason for it being pixely is probably this: It's SUPER high res and the game/engine is not adapted to such high resolution textures and high poly models.
incorrect, source handles hi-res textures (including normal maps) and high-poly models just fine. we had this argument on cdg and it was pretty much concluded that this is a misconception born out of engine elitism by the cryengine modders. there are advanced settings for the nvidia control panel that can help with that. things like mip maps can also cause a seriously pixellated appearance at a distance. on second thought, hairy might be talking about the fucked contrast on nick or the jpeg quality. there's a way to bind a key to take higher quality (.png or .tga, can't recall which offhand) screenshots to reduce compression, which is probably the problem here. other than that all i can think of is a skin with fucked contrast.
bind "\" "devshots_screenshot"
put it in your console and replace \ with any other key if you dont want to use \ press \ or whatever key you bound, using sdof just move the window into the bottom right corner, ill make a detailed write up on it so i can just link it as for the aliasing on the guns i think it could also be due to high res normal maps making very thin highlights that dont anti-alias very well

no, it saves the image as a .tga [editline]04:08AM[/editline] which is lossless afaik
Fix... DoF!
no, it saves the image as a .tga [editline]04:08AM[/editline] which is lossless afaik
Yes, it is lossless. A'ight then.
Thanks for the help guys, however, I do got some aa issues, I am hopelessly clueless what causes them. Fences, and very detailed stuff get's poor or no aa at all. I got my graphics on max, etc. Could it be my gfx card is fucked?
If your card is an ATI one, you can go to your Catalyst Control Center and turn on Adaptive Anti-Aliasing.
lol thanks man, it is ati
Go make more infiltrator pictures like the previous ones NOW!
turn on transparency antialiasing, it smooths transparent edges of textures like the fences and handrails and yes even foliage. dont know how to do it with an ati card but a quick google search will give you the answer fuck im a bat reader
