then you look down and zoom in on the entire body
actually you should have noclipped through the floor/crouched for a better angle anyway

Which I should've thought about earlier. Alas, not.
rain has little depth in it, impacts look like glowing dots, dude himself looks like he's glowing and there's tons of wasted space. cropped version is better in terms of space, but still not great. try and avoid taking screenshots from camera height, they don't work out very often.

oh, and posing seems decent enough, but you may want to set his feet a little further apart. all that gear would weigh a lot.

Make more than one layer, increase and decrease the sizes of the drops as they move away from the camera (and the length of the motion-blur) and place layers in front of and behind characters and objects.
more layers of ever decreasing particle size in the background, fewer particles overall in the foreground
