Why do I get the feelings that the explosions are actually chicken nuggets?

there's honestly nothing happening in the right half of the picture, and so i would've cropped the scene differently, perhaps like this

this sort of composition helps direct the viewer's attention to the gunner(s) instead of the surroundings
and holy crap those lines in the smoke are nasty - look around the muzzle flash and you'll spot them quickly. be [I]extremely[/I] careful when editing effects, because sharp stuff like that sticks out, if not instantly, then at least very quickly
Thanks for that! And yeah, I think when I was making the muzzle flash I forgot to put the smoke on the background layer, and when I went to go erase the excess flash I made those lines.
