I put a good deal of work into this, including lua scripting, posing, post game editing, and techniques covering volumetric lighting, light stacking and texture blending. This project started way back in March, and the process was stupidly slow, lots of on-off work. Bit more than I could chew, but finally got around to finishing it. I've been looking at it for so damn long now I can't even tell if it's good or not, so any feedback is much appreciated! SpeedPose Video Some Stats Original capture size: 25600x14400 Effects count: 329 Props count: 679 Ragdolls count: 116 The picture contains light information equivalent to 300,000+ish separate lamps Alternate Sizes 1920x1080 2560x1440 3840x2160 5120x2880 Extras [t]https://picload.org/image/rdrwpoir/atmopass.jpg[/t][t]https://picload.org/image/rdrwpoiw/lightpass.jpg[/t][t]https://picload.org/image/rdrlrocl/isolationpass.jpg[/t] Untextured Original Comparison Scenebuild Hands Closeup Mech Closeup Truck Closeup Cart Closeup Super Admin Standalone Mech Standalone March Standalone Deviant Art Imgur Album
Ok, so this is just sick! In the most positive way i can think of. Well done!
what the fuck dude it looks like a painting
Ok, so this is just sick! In the most positive way i can think of. Well done!
Thanks! Most if not all of the hands were sculpted with models from your pack + a whole lot more of the scenery, so a huge thanks to you!
Jesus fucking christ the night, what sort of pact with the devil did you make to have the skill and processing power to make this sorta stuff?
Okay, this is easily one of the best I've seen on here. Fucking incredible.
holy fucking jesus what is this i fucking love it
Absolutely outrageous
I was watching the video and around 2:27 though "wow that's a great shot" and then you captured that one as well. Good eye. I can't figure out how you made some of the terrain look like grass though. Advanced texture tool? What was the material you overwrote it with? I'd love to add that as a grassy skin. The terrain looks almost Scottish. The level of detail on the 5k pic is quite astounding, the guy chilling in the hamock, a dropped hoverball, and then the flag from the spec ops pack that's actually a cape (if i'm guessing the prop correctly). I've stared at this pic for a very long time.
Holy fuck, this is incredible, you badass and talanted motherfucker.
This is incredible. Thanks for the new background. I really hope this goes in Gmod Main menu.
I want to have sex with your image

As to the terrain being mossy, answer's quite long: I outputted around 15 different pictures, not just 1 (and yes... every picture was infact made of around 15+ other pictures, so that's 15*15 pictures overall, or 225ish pictures (each in poster 10 sized 25600x14400 T_T)) so that every picture has a different texture including bump map illumination information. You can see most of these images at around the 1:49 mark in the video. I then used an isolation pass and lots of mask information obtained via projecting (your) terrain textures onto the ground in black and white to create varying opacity levels for every texture pass, and merged them into one. You can see the mask outputs at 1:57 (each one masks a different texture plus manual brush work) and the resulting masked textures immediately after merged ontop of the other. This is basically the exact same technique - texture blending - I described here: [t]https://picload.org/image/rgippaol/groundtest1.jpg[/t] [t]https://picload.org/image/rgpgaarw/final.jpg[/t] To materialize the objects, I used the material creator (the better, updated version of the advanced texturizer)
Holy fuck, I wont be able to do anything close to what you've done, even with years of practice.
finally it's done and it's magnificent, there's nothing that i could - or that i would really have any right to - criticize
Jesus fucking christ the night, what sort of pact with the devil did you make to have the skill and processing power to make this sorta stuff?
AFAIK he's a professional in something related to textures or shaders or something
Simply amazing. I had to meticulously scrutinize the 5K version just to soak up all the incredible detail. Great job as always!
Vioxtar, you're a computer magician.
AFAIK he's a professional in something related to textures or shaders or something
I wish, this is just a hobby
I'm legit gonna cry dude. This is just fucking amazing! I'm literally speechless, no words can express how i feel. EDIT:I envy you dude. Fuck me!
I wish, this is just a hobby
welllllll hobbyist with the skill of a professional then
Incredible as always. I wish I had the talent and patience to do something half as detailed and photorealistic as your work - let alone the ability to actually build all these wonderful contraptions out of junk props to begin with.
My real life friend linked me to the video and said I'd probably like it, he was fucking right, it's nothing short of amazing.
It's absolutely flawless. I can't even begin to wrap my head around trying to pull something like this off.
Really good man honestly looks like a piece of concept art or something. I've got to say though i'd really like to see you take your skill and do a picture that isn't supposed to be in a garrysmod setting.

And I'm all for the idea, I just don't have an idea for what setting may be right, I'm definitely open to suggestions
Fucking amazingly incredible. This should go into Gmod as default wallpaper.
vol light, I need it.
Thanks! This has got to be your best piece to date!
Should do something Telekinesis related and inside a city, buildings being torn apart, Cellfactor Revolution style.
