1. what does hexed mean 2. What is source (eg: what is the difference between half life and half life : source?) 3. How do you make a world model? 4. why isnt everything clientside?
1. A hexed model is a model that is independent. It does not override a previous one. 2. Source is the engine Half Life 2 runs on. 3. Depends. 4. Because then you couldn't access the server and clients would be able to do some dangerous things.
but what does source have that the original half life doesnt?

Well, graphics, physics, particle effects, HDR*, proper sky, 3d skyboxes, lipsyncing, facial animation. *Requires any game on the ep2 engine.

High Dynamic Range, here, I'll give you an example. http://storefront.steampowered.com/video/LostCoastHDR.wmv If it doesn't work, google High Dynamic Range.
