First off post here if you want to participate.
k
Damnit I was working on a map...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/0WgMe3Z.png[/t] Oooo just had an idea thanks to Niandra. (Also: Yes.)
I thought had this great idea and then it fizzled... [t]http://i.gyazo.com/d9a20453e152e921057050c9eee204e6.png[/t]
- The finished gamemode must be sold for free, not on any services like ScriptFodder.
So I can sell it, but it has to be for free? INTERESTING. So we can make whatever we want? I've been mulling over an idea for the past few days, not sure if it's something I could get into a functional state in only 2 days, also not sure if I want to make it public. I'm willing to participate regardless.
I wanna do it
Challenge accepted.
I'd love to but that time frame just kills me with my work schedule - put me down as interested just so I can see how my schedule will turn out and hop in if I can.
I'm in. Must it be multiplayer?
I'll be a judge, looking forward to seeing what everyone makes ^_^ I don't know if I need qualifications to be a judge, but I made this: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1463483
I'm willing to be a judge
Can I be a judge? :) pmed you
How do you expect to be sure the submission was made from scratch in the allotted time?
How do you expect to be sure the submission was made from scratch in the allotted time?
I do see that being a problem. Right now I'm just busting my brain trying to think of something to make. Usually in game jams a theme is selected and revealed when the contests starts to discourage that kind of thing.
I'd have much more fun taking the piss out of a chosen category than taking the piss out of my own choices.
Not going to participate with a time-frame less than 4-5 days (Already lost 10 hours), but can't wait to see the results.

Ill come up with something then tell you when the time starts?
Aww fuck, it's like the old Fretta competitions. I wish I could participate but won't be around, good luck guys! [editline]4th July 2015[/editline] 2000th post, where did my life go :)
What makes this competition an official? are you an employee of FPS? And the last gamemode competition we had that was official had prizes about $10k.
I'll be a judge.
Why are you making it only 48 hourS? you're fucking over quite a few developers that have busy lives, The best you could do is give everyone a week since that seems more fair and will provide us with better quality gamemodes + more coders in this competition
Let's have theme
Let's have theme
Not a good idea. Last time they tried that (2014 gamemode competition) it turned into a multi-page argument over the theme. (See: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1352549 , A few pages in.) edit: [sp] (You disabled PM's so I'm putting this here) Oi Shibdu, why is this dumb? I'm just saying it's going to turn into an argument because it always does.[/sp]
can we use stuff like a pre-made round system or is it 100% from scratch? What about including SWEPs? (just a suggestion) if you extend it to 72 hours then it's better for people in distant timezones. It might also improve the quality of the gamemodes as well while still being feasible. also i'd like to enter
I kinda agree on a theme however it would need to be something that could have a few unique idea's, and not everyone ending up with the same thing if ya get me? You can also put me under the 'Probs' list of people participating.
I'll also go under the probs list.
48 hours... Some people have full time 12 hour a day jobs.
A Time span that I think everyone would agree on is having a week solely because it works for those that have a job and those who may be busy with other things. I was curious too, Why don't we just allow the coders to code anything they want? They can surprises us with there own unique ideas and we wont have the issue of coders leaving because of a certain theme or people arguing about it.
