Fairly new to the forums and Lua - Developers

Hey guys I'm pretty new to Lua and the forums but I can understand what a line means most of the time and is basically all I have for experience. I was wondering what I would need to do to make a item for the DarkRP game mode. I'm trying to make a item that has a canister model and when "use'd" in your inventory it appears on the ground in front of you and when pressed E on sprays smoke and anything in certain radius of the canister that is on fire becomes no longer on fire. Basically I have no idea where I would put the files in the DarkRP folder, whether it's considered a SWEP, what files I would need to make, and what guidelines I would have to follow. I'd like to thank you all for helping me before hand as well so thanks :smile:

I'm confused... I already have Notepad ++ I'm not a complete Lua noob, I have quite basic Lua knowledge could you detail step one and three a little more?.

Don't use darkRP, it's frowned upon. Step 3 means try making your own stuff, like for example simple stuff [lua] function PrintStuff() print("I made my first function!") end [/lua]

Meh. Some DarkRP servers are good, it's just minges and bad admins that ruins it.
