Is it possible for me to be able to read the cache files like i could do before by looking at the dua files? Are they compressed somehow, if so, can i decompress them? Thanks.
Try open it with Winrar or 7Zip? I never tried actually!
Unfortunatly no, unknown file type, it may be damaged etc.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the whole point of encrypting them that you wouldn't be able to steal client-side files from servers?
I thought they were just compressed. Could be wrong though.
No ralle, the whole idea of putting it all in one file is so if there are shit loads of lua files to download it doesnt have to negotiate a connection for every single one, it just downloads it all in one bunch. Atleast... i think.
You can read them from garrysmod/lua_temp if you are in a server with all the files. If that's what you want to do, read the clientside files from a server.
Wait, this time the files actually aren't empty? [editline]04:09PM[/editline] Nope, unfortunatly all of those files are 0kb.
Must have been an update. It wasn't like that before.
It always was for me. If i looked in the lua temp folder it had all the files and folders but there just wasnt anything in them [editline]04:16PM[/editline] Do you know how the caches actually work? Like, is it compression or something? trying to unrar/unzip it didnt work, ill try all the other forms of compression that winrar has.
Files are now stored in garrysmod/cache/dua and you can open them with any text editor of your choice. However, file names are MD5 hashes so it may take some time to find what you need but you'll find it eventually.
Its some weird compression in some weird way, AzuiSleet says which it is somewhere in the update thread
Oh WAIT i didnt notice that the files were actually still in /dua. Fuck im a retard. Thanks a shitload sabaton, though i wish they werent md5s.
