Did you set the gamemode in the launch options?

I know we're meant to help people in this section, but I don't see why we should waste time when people can't even look up basic shit for what they're doing, like it's literally a google search, if you can't manage something so simple why even make a server?
In your launch options for your server (im guessing it'll be in some web control panel with your host) add:
-gamemode gamemodename
I'm guessing it will be something like 'jailbreak', and will usually be the folder name.

You need to put it in the startup options for the server not in the autoexec, if you put it in the autoexec it's just 'gamemode jailbreak' without the -

Thanks but it's his server and idk where his startup options are it's also the same in the server.cfg file I put sv_defaultgamemode "jailbreak"
You need to put the gamemode launch line in the bat you use to start the server. Putting it in server.cfg/autoexec.
Okay his host is gmc host they come with a JB by Chessnut sorry for all the trouble btw and well I uninstalled the old JB from them and put in the new one in the gamemode folder and the folder is called jailbreak_master so I typed it as is he doesn't have a start.bat file where would I put it in FileZilla if it was a new server it would've been so much easier starting from scratch but oh well so should I just put that in his web console or what cause I'm pretty sure gmc host set everything up for him and I see no start.bat file
to be honest you should not host a server if you don't even know how to set it up properly
