Error Connecting: Can't connect to MySQL server.

Hello facepunch,
I have been a lurker for a while, and now I would like some help.

I cannot get cider to connect to my database on my webhost. I have tried 3 different hosts and localhost, none of them seem to connect.
When they do connect, I get a different error.

This is the error I get on webhost:

I have allowed access from the gameservers IP (on a dedicated server) on cpanel.
The database and user have been created, sql has been set up correctly.

When I do it on lan:

Then, whenever I disconnect and rejoin, I start from new, it won't save to the database.

If anyone could help, that would be great!

Are you using a real server or just a hamachi (singleplayer server) because I had this issue but i never tried it on a real server so i cant be so sure.

Realserver, it's on a dedi.

Im guessing its something to do with your sql file.

10060 means it cannot connect, so that won't be it.

Tried the connection info from say... phpmyadmin? Or an external source outside cPanel. Did you add the host wildcard? (Host wildcard is %. I haven't used cPanel for a while, but I know theres a "allowed users" section.)
