Not sure how to best make a cool plasma weapon swep

Ive been thinking about a cool plasma weapon swep, but....I have absolutely no skill, all I have is an Idea, could someone help me with this? either tutorials or actual help is appreciated

Pretty much, the plasma cannon would hurl a ball of energy (not that important what it looks like, I would prefer a glowing purple fireball, but a combine ball will do if that is too difficult) on contact with an enemy it would

A.Do alot of damage
B.Set the target on fire
C.if it kills the target, chars the corpse
D.if it kills the target with plenty of damage left over, it disintigrates them.

their would also be a blast effect however the weapon has heavy recoil and low rate of fire.

I made this a while ago and it is sort of what you want.

change the view model and if you can figure out how my code works change the damage.
(it is not the standard damage it is the balls you will find it somewhere in the code)

Thanks, Ill make good use of these, Ill try to post it if I can do it.
Probably, to get what I want, just use the alien blaster and add a blast effect and change the viewmodel.
