I was wondering if anyone knows how to make my thrusters more powerful, or if anyone has already coded something like this? I set the force to 99999999999 but I think it limits it at some point so I can't get the kind of 'from one side of gm_flatgrass to the other in 0.4 seconds' thrusting power I need in my machine.
Use multiple thrusters.
Increase or decrease the weight of the thruster (i can't remember which).
Use the biggest thruster model there is. As strange as this sounds, the bigger the actual model is the more power it has.
It's possible the physics engine just functions so that air friction limits you to a particular maximum speed.
You will need Jinto's physics addon. It will let you change the max speed limits of the engine.
