[Video] Lua Tutorial Series

Welcome, Ladles and Jellyspoons!
As you all know, a lot of people play Garry's Mod, yet only a handful actually know Lua coding. Now, whether you make it a top priority or not, it's always good to know some basic lua to fix errors that may arise in your code/servers.

In May of 2012, I started a Youtube Garry's Mod Lua Tutorial series, later dubbed, "Let's Code: Garry's Mod Lua". I thought I would share the videos here to give some insight on providing fundamental Lua knowledge in the GMod Syntax. I understand where you are coming from, but for the time I was trying for a more simple approach. I have something planned for it in a couple of episodes. :)

Usermessages aren't simplier than Net :3
It's mostly the same, with the difference that you have to do util.AddNetworkedString before using them and that you don't have to turn tables into strings to send them.

Quite good series, but personally I'd try to explain things faster so you'd get more videos but less info in each.
I've also been thinking about making a gLua tutorial series but I just hate to hear my own voice recorded and I'm a bit scared of my english skills.
Don't know if I even could help anyone lol

But yeah your series will definitely help most beginners on lua scripting.

From someone who has limited lua coding experience and only started about a week or two ago I found it helpful.. however it was confusing to me because of the first half of your stuff was for garrys mod 12 and the second half was for 13 and half the stuff didn't work due to this.

All in all it was okay.

Well I followed the tutorials to and the only things that didn't work for me was the font.
And I can say that after I watched his tutorials I understand how to make a HUD then I improved my skills looking for more information on wiki.

The bulk of the code still works from the Garry's Mod 12 to Garry's Mod 13, with the exception, as denis mentioned, of the font.

Thanks for the feedback, I can start it on my next video. As far as you doing a series, I say go for it! There are only two of us, and Goature( Chief ) hardly posts anymore. Would be nice for another coder or just GMod player in general :)
