I am interested in learning how to code LUA for gmod and how to work with it. I am interested in first coding entities then learning to code game modes, classes, etc. I am completely new to coding and am willing to start from scratch but have no idea where to start, where to progress to how to anything. All i know is I need notepad++....i dont even know what to set it to for language or anything tho.

This thread might help you.
When I started learning LUA I decided I wanted to make a SWEP, and thought it would be cool to make a stick that you can play tag with.
Here it is:

It has a pretty cool breadth of features so it might be helpful, I know I learn better by example.
tag someone with mouse1
launch yourself with mouse2
Here's some info that may help out, including code_gs help thread, and more. Feel free to contact me on Steam, I tutor a lot of people. If you have any questions, don't ask to ask, just ask; I have a lot of downtime because of my injury so if I don't respond, be patient. I have plenty of tutorials written up, chances are if you ask a question I may have a solution.

What does the style fixer have to do with lua? :v:
Ah, it is part of a custom bbcode system I have installed for firefox whichs allows me to bind keys / context menus with output. It has DarkRP help thread in it too; but the StyleFixer helps the readability of the forums. Without it super-long usertitles are possible and annoying, and the page gets messed up on occasion. It is kind of a necessity!
You should probably link to an updated version with way more features then: [url]http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1314761[/url]
Done, thanks:

Or the updated Faceraper: [url]http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1314761[/url]
Updated.
It's Faceraper, not Scraper.
Isn't it Lua, not LUA?

No-one really gives a shit except for people who want to sound like they know what they are talking about.
