You can't you can make it private but then nobody else is going to be able to see it or download it only you will be able to.

I don't see the point of putting it on the workshop if you don't want anyone looking at it or extracting it.
Put a mean comment at the top of your lua file. That'll show em

That is possibly the best response I've seen yet.
If you're talking about lua files, you can mess up with your script making it imposible to read
Other stuff it's not posible to obfuscate
If you make your addon unable to be extracted, how would people use it?
Think of a gma as garrysmod just reading up a zipped addon, it's practically the same thing. If you make that zipped addon unreadable then the game can't load it in the first place. Of course you can always be a prick about it and make your code into one gigantic line like I've seen some people do but all that will do is slow them down.
