I'm starting a DarkRP server with a friend, 64 slots of greatness with non-abusive and mature admins. I'm new to Lua so things will be slow if I do all the development so i'm looking for a fellow Lua Developer to help Populate our server with great additions and fixes. I can not promise anything however I've got a lot of experience in building successful servers and communities. If this goes well which it should then you can get a share of the package profit down the line. Add me on skype: infamousmax or just message me here. or steam : maxamized This will give any developer a chance to explore his creativity and make a great server that people enjoy playing on. Thank you for reading, - Max
I know pretty good DarkRP files if I say so myself. Hit me up on steam if you're interested. I sure am. Steam: [YG]GOA. Yasmoni
Please, for god's sake PLEASE don't make a DarkRP server. And especially don't make a thread about it. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1257110

http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1257110
Why would I not make an RP Server? I've made many successful Role-Play servers on games/mods in the past and I bring things to the table that no other element can or has thought about doing. I bring exclusive gameplay and ways to play with others. Why should I not create a server for people to enjoy if I enjoy doing it? Also your last comment is not very helpful, if that is a rule of this sub-forum do you know the appropriate sub-forum to post this in? Thank you.
I guess this. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1269027
Face punch has rightly lost faith in 'new and original DarkRP servers'. You only have to browse for about a year to realise how crappy of a decision it is to make a new DarkRP server.
99% of stuff you need help with can be found inside facepunch forum, if you have a doubt, ask help, maybe you can learn lua yourself and realize that there are many better gamemodes to use your time with than darkrp.
Thank you for your posts, Yeah i'm sure just like any other game there are plenty of Gamemodes people like and dislike. At the end of the day I stated the reason why i'm doing this and it's for Role-Play purposes. Unless there is a better gamemode than DarkRP then DarkRP it has to be. Thanks again.
DarkRP and Sandbox are my two favorite gamemodes. I can't understand how so many can bash on Infamousmax for asking help. Facepunch community has taught all the things you know, how are you going to flame this guy?
Wrong section.. :pwn:
Wrong section.. :pwn:
Idk why this was rated dumb. He's right, any coder requests belong here. That's why there are 2 threads created for that sole purpose.

Make a server for another gamemode, make your own or prepare to waste one or two months of server costs. No matter how different you think of your server will be, no matter if you think your server administration team will be better, it won't. If you have to go and waste money to realise that then you are stupid.
ClockworkRP? Seems to be much more unique and less denser serverwise than DarkRP.
I know this is slightly off-topic, but how many new roleplay servers actually succeed? Like, yeah, DarkRP seems really popular, but there's already hundreds of servers and many owners thinking the exact same thing.
Lets put it into context, at least in my eyes. Garrysmod is not really an appropriate place for roleplay, it's maps are confined and it's not very realistic. Besides that, the game itself doesn't attract the right kind of people for roleplay. Yet somehow rp gamemodes have started. If you want to play darkrp Its probably advisable to go on another server, if you want a project to work on then I would say you should work on a gamemode more suited to gmod, such as ttt or gungame. Heck even do both. In the end it's going to be a pain setting up a server because of the competition and the lack of customisation at the start, the only real question is, is this what you really want to do?
