• gMix - The alternative to fretta?

So hum hello there! I kinda wanted to make a fretta like base gamemode and wanted to know if you guys though it was worth it, had any ideas or suggestion or feature requests if I ever end up making it. I hope if I start this project and finish it it could allow newcomers to make some easy and fun games that could change from the boring gamemodes that used to be from fretta and got ported to a standalone gamemode. So yeah, let me know what you think. EDIT: I'm planning on adding a couple of useful utils such as the ones you can see in nutscript.

Not to mention TTT use to be part of fretta and that isn't exactly boring.
I remember playing fretta a few years ago, those were the days. Fretta has sort of died out (at least in Australia). I would like to see this get popular.

There sure are some that can survive without fretta but some can't afford that.
Fretta's death is nothing but laziness on the gmod/fp's community part. I got into lua coding when I signed up to Facepunch and had no previous experience in the field, I was able to fix up multiple old gamemodes almost straight away. Fretta is good because -Easy to work with if you have the ability to read and can look at how other gamemodes on it work -Handles the round system for you, meaning you can focus right away on gameplay -Lots of variables to tweak your gamemode -Lots of old gamemodes available if you can be bothered to fix them Fretta is bad because -Overall design is bland/dated -Lack of support, got an error? You're going to have to fix it yourself -Basically does the hardest part of the gamemode for them and encourages being lazy a bit -Has a habit of breaking in odd ways; like it won't give a lua error, it just won't do what you're asking I run one of the few active fretta servers that host a bunch of old gamemodes and I'll be honest, I have quite the love/hate relationship with it as a base. An alternative or more frameworks for users is always a good idea, in my opinion, however it can encourage you to be lazy in a way, as it can sometimes be a lot of copying pasting. For example, I could make my own rounds system, but I don't see the point when I already have Fretta, if that makes sense. Still, I do think it would be quite a good idea, as encouraging people to make more gamemodes is always a good thing!
Fretta wasn't a bad system and brought in some decent features. However it ultimately did become a toggle-switch system.
