First time post, just started getting into lua, want to progress in the gmod tutorial, but I don't have a lua folder. I tried adding one, that didn't work, I tried reinstalling Gmod, that didn't work. Would reinstalling steam help? I'm open to suggestions.
make one again?
obviously you had gotten the wrong path, there are multiple folders to worry about, let me find mine
[CODE]C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\autorun
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\autorun\client
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\autorun\server
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\entities
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\weapons
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[NAMEEXPUNGED]\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua\postprocess[/CODE]
etc as examples
manually getting an addon and using the LUA folders as an example of what it should look like is good too
look at your "common" folder ;)
Yeah, (username)/garrysmod is outdated
It seems that some of us still have GMod in (username)/garrysmod/.

Yeah, that's my case.
Right click Gmod on Steam, properties, Verify intergrity of Game Cache

You have both unless you didn't have GMod before the pipe update or you've deleted it. The one in (username) is pre-steam-pipe and no files will be loaded from there when you launch "Garry's Mod" if your game is fully updated.

I have nothing GMod related in my common folder, and I'm running the latest version.
Seem to be some minor discrepancies over this.

This
Thank you, you're a blessing.
At the moment, if you have Garry's Mod in (username), you may run into some issues. It only seems to be occasional though.
