Bitchiest Customer Part 2! - Developers

If not: [url]http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1439296[/url] So before you view this keep in mind: -I have helped multiple people with their servers. -No one has ever charge backed me on PayPal out of my 5-15 transactions every 2 months (Depends if people need LUA done, can be hard to find someone that hires) -I am ALWAYS nice to customers. -I've never even thought about scamming someone. Here's what every programmer for hire must abide by to not suffer like this: Charge at least minimum wage, and ignore the child customers who can't afford to pay it; those customers are not paying with their own money in the first place. Only undercut your pricing if you've made a mistake that makes things take longer than they should have. Perhaps offer a cheaper price for an agreement that you can sell it to other people too. Offer flat decided prices for specific things that are [i]already[/i] complete. For example, making a cool addon and selling it for 5$ to a large number of people. Dumb customers will insist that they should be allowed to resell your work endlessly, and not you. Make an agreement on the licensing beforehand. Never give them the product until you've been paid. Keep records of the agreement making (webm video capture is better than screenshots). Show them the finished product on your dev server or a local listen server. If they don't like these terms, they're too dumb to work with, and probably scamming you. Trouble is that most of this age group has a poor grasp on money, and terrible attitudes.
