Came across this symbol in some of the Lua files and still don't know what it does, tried it in my own code and it seems that it's executing the code everytime.
Same as !=
So it just checks if the variables doesn't equal ?
!= is Garry's not equal operator
~= is the native lua not equal operator

I didn't know you were still alive flap <3
Its kind of a silly operator, I would've figured that ~= means 'approximately' instead of 'not equal to'. != makes much more sense

4.5 ~= 5
"eh close enough, true"

Yea, I always use ~ to say "ish" or "about"
e.g.
"Damn it Loch Ness Monster, what do you want now?!"
"M... I need ~$3.50"

I often use an exclamation mark to indicate strong feelings.
e.g.
"God damnit!"
"It is about as god damn impossible to make a correct algorithm that bans prop killers as it is to solve the motherfucking halting problem!"
"You cunt!"

-snip invalid point-
Use ~= and I'll love you
