• How to manually mount .gma files into garry's mod for testing?
    4 replies, posted
I'm just getting into creating addon scripts for Garry's Mod, and it's been going well so far. I'm currently using alatnet's Gmod Publishing Utility to create and upload my scripts. I'm able to subscribe to them and run them just fine. However, I hear that attempting to upload updates to my existing addons on the workshop too frequently will get me banned temporarily from using steam, so it doesn't seem like a good method of developing my addons. I tried just creating .gma files using gmpu and putting them directly in my addons folder, but Garry's mod doesn't seem to want to mount them. What i'm trying to say is, how should I go about testing and developing my addons before publishing them?
Use legacy addons. Do not pack them into .gma's.
Legacy addons? What do you mean by that?
Just put the folder in addons instead of turning it into a gma.
Oh. That works? [editline]10th March 2015[/editline] That works! Thank you.
