Yayayayay! Finally thank god and thank you
Very useful, Thanks for the Tutorial.
Lol, I thought everyone was gonna hate this.
Can you use Photoshop CS3 / CS4 insted of paint.net? Thanks. -[Xero]
It's a shame that you only taught people to squish their icon up, instead of cropping it correctly.
I wouldn't recommend squishing it like that. I hate when things are squished. [editline]03:57AM[/editline]
Can you use Photoshop CS3 / CS4 insted of paint.net? Thanks. -[Xero]
Yes. Infact, it works better in my opinion.

For people that aren't poor and have money for Photoshop. http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=154 EDIT: Also, I used a pretty crappy example for this Tutorial. I should have used a pistol. They look a lot better. Spawn icons need to be the same width and height (256 x 256) or they look weird. I'll mess one up and show you. EDIT: Turns out they won't even save if they're not the same width and height. For example, 600 x 256, won't save.
Hi , I try this for npc but it's difficult because i downloaded the NPC_v4 by ZombieHunter on garrysmod.org but there aren't spawnicons so i can't find the name of the model to make the spawn icons but i success with the counter strike npcs for example : npc_tleet.vtf/vmf . But for the others npc it's difficult .. can you make a tutorial or make the spawnicons ? because i can't do it myself thanks you . Sorry for the bad english

Probably here.
I was actually thinking this was gonna be hard, instead it isn't. Thanks!

It's weird, it does not work, but still thanks.
I think it's worth mentioning that if you don't want them to look all weird and stretched after resizing it, if you're starting with a rectangular picture, make sure it's square before you resize it to 256x256.

For example, 600 x 256, won't save.
Materials in source games generally require you to make the .vtf image to be a power of 2 For example, the size of an image must be 2 Squared, or 2 Cubed, meaning the image size would be like this: 2 or 4 or 8 - 16 or 32 or 64 or 128 or 256 or 512 or 1024 or 2048 etc. Pixels wide, by pixels high You can mix them aswell, so you could have an image of 512 x 256, or 512 x 512 If you want a better explanation ask, becuase I don't tell this very well :)
People like you.... You gotta love them. (not as in a lovey dovey <3 way, but as in a community friend helping another friend out..... right?) :D ;P [editline]12th September 2011[/editline] This was made 2 days after my birthday! :D 7.7.... yeah lucky... ahha aha, yeah yeah, ahha ahha ahha.
