So I was working on a gamemode when; I went to start the Server, the Start.bat and SRCDS Executable simply disappeared. Confused, I opened the SteamCMD - Logged in and ran the update and validate command. It did not work. So I created a new empty folder. Downloaded the Gmod server files, and the SRCDS File would not install. So I ran the update command and I get this error "Error! App '4020' state is 0x262 after update job." I can figure out why. I checked the recycling bin, and nothing was there. Thanks!
Your AV is probably deleting it.
I disabled my AV and its worked. But Avast does not delete files on its own, unless you configure it to, which i have not. Do you have any experience with Avast?
No, but avast is known to do this every now and then.
Ah, I fixed it. Thanks, Avast put the file in the Virus Chest. I reported it is as false, and restored it. Thanks!
