I have downloaded an MP3 which I would like to use in a game mode. I have tried using it raw, but I had static noise instead of music. Then I encoded it to 44100Hz 16bit stereo in Reaper, and I am still getting static sound instead of the actual music. I would like to have assistance with how to encode the file to properly play it in Gmod, if possible (and to avoid misunderstandings) please attach a screenshot of your audio software settings. I tried using Audacity, but I was unable to find 44100Hz option under mp3 settings.

It was a user error, the file on the server was incorrectly encoded. After changing the file to the correct one, everything played well. Apologies.
