(Edited to be less rude)
Okay, so I stumbled across some amazingly well-done videos as of late and couldn't help but notice they have distracting black speckles all over their characters as a result of not properly using Ambient Occlusion.
The correct way to use AO is to enable it in co-ordination with Depth of Field of at least 32 samples (I personally go with 256) and some aperture on your camera in the animset editor. Make sure to keep this in mind! It'll help your film look really great.
Some examples:

Thanks for listening.
wat ?
Why is this hard to understand?
I just said people aren't understanding how AO works and it's making movies look bad.
Rage harder. There is a thread where people can ask about and be told about this.
We don't need a thread for you personal angst.
While the advice itself is correct, the way you presented it is very shitty and you should feel appropriately.

I have to admit the scout versus witch is really bad lighted, with an animation like this, its a bit sad.
But who cares ? The guy just wanted to make an example for a portfolio, and saying "its a tutorial lol" for just complaining, nobody cares.
That first video isn't the original. I'm not sure if it's stolen or not. Oh but yeah. You worded that really poorly. Makes you seem incredibly rude.
Yeah guys you're right. I shouldn't have worded it like that. Sorry for coming off as an asshole. It just really bothered me (especially in the scout video) because everything else was so perfectly done it just seemed like a shame to have such a visual burden. Hopefully the author knows this and he can re-render it sometime down the road with fixed settings haha.
