So, recently i've been trying to use the fbx2dmx program that sfm now has for a quite some time. Anyhow, i already know what you have to do to get cat rigs to work with the bones. But strangly, the bones are placed correctly, but the mesh is really messed up. Have you tried performing a Utilities>Reattach to model?
Have you tried performing a Utilities>Reattach to model?
Doesn't seem to affect the mesh at all.
Doesn't seem to affect the mesh at all.
Try Reattach to Model instead :S

FBX2DMX with max has given me nothing but problems in the past, the best I've gotten is preserved flexes but broken rigging, textures, and 0.1 scale export.
I found the solution. It seems like if you use decompiled models the mesh will get messed up. But, if you use the actually bone structure (a.k.a rig) that valve provides it will get fixed. DL: critsandvich.com/random/rigs/rigs.zip
You decompiled the model and animated with that decompiled SMD instead of using the official sources provided by Valve.
