I dont know if someone could help me or do it themselves but I took an animation from Second Life (.bvh file) and then tried to give a rigged scout the animation. I get an error that says that none of the bones match. So i open the animation by itself, rename all the bones to ones that match the rigged scout, then I do it again. Same error.
So if anyone can tell me how to get a BVH file working with a tf2 rig that would be great.
Here is a BVH file for you to mess with

... did you really try opening up a BVH file in the SFM or am I reading this wrong
EDIT: never mind, your BVH file has all the wrong tracks. Don't know how to deal with that myself :/
Im new to Maya and Motion Builder.. by like 2 hours. So yea I have no knowledge in what im doing, but im trying to do it!
A BVH file is usually just a raw animation file. There's no context to link it to models in Source.
What you'll have to do is bring the TF2 rigs into MotionBuilder (export it as an FBX), do some motion re-targeting to get the BVH data onto the TF2 rig, then bring it back to Maya, export it as a DMX file and bring it into SFM from there.
This should get you started with that:

I rigged the character, i just dont know how to how you say "re-target" the bones.
Look around Youtube for tutorials. That's one of the main features of Motionbuilder. Shouldn't be too hard to find a decent guide.
First expand the character menu in the navigator and double click on character, then click the character definition tab.

Then expand your scene to your animation then right click>expand branches

Then under the Base required section in the navigator drag and drop your bvh bones to the corresponding table, when all finished click characterize>biped and your bones are attached in the program assuming you have your rig set up your good to go, just mimic the motion in the character controls.

Thanks mishappp. Did you do it with the bvh animation and did it look good?
