Hi, I'm trying to get a very experimental saxxy done in less than five days, and I need YOUR help, guy who knows how Hammer works or has already solved this problem! I've been trying to get the Hard Rain (map 1 and map 4, specifically) maps to work and no matter what, half the models show up as glowing wireframes, which are not only unsightly but have a huge performance impact. If anyone would be so kind as to recompile the maps or at least point me in the direction of finding out how to do so (I have basically no knowledge of Hammer or most of that low level stuff). If it's a matter of importing the right files, I'd be ecstatic to find out how to solve it that way.
And yes, I've downloaded the fixed L4D2 content and gotten that all set up.
hmm you loaded the maps from the l4d2_fixed folder right? I think those maps might represent the internet's best attempt so far so I wouldn't expect much.

Drat. Guess I'll have to come up with something else. I was going to try an experiment with 3D, where one side is of the daytime map, and the other side is the nighttime map. The nighttime side would show a desperate struggle on the survivor's part, and the daytime side would show the aftermath. The camera movement would be identical between the two and all the action would be frozen in time, but with each side having slightly different qualities, it creates this weird "ghost" effect.
I tried it out with some test videos in harvest where I exported one video in harvest_event in 3D, and one video in harvest_final in 3D, with harvest_event having a couple of extra models. Then I cut up the two videos into one 3D video and the results turned out kinda interesting.
