tried to give this as much of a 1970s feel as i could. i'm not a very good animator when it comes to whole body movement, and used a lot of default animations where i could, so i can see where there needs to be some improvement to be anywhere near perfect.
but please let me know what you think. critiques are helpful!
Looks great! The only thing that looks weird was the sniper strafe-firing. You can use the sliders in the sequence importer to simulate running in a direction other than forward, so you can mess around with that to get what you want.
Also, sup?
sup trashy
yeah, I know about the sliders, he's actually moving on his y axis using the strafe animation with run_attack_secondary, which I guess does look pretty weird. even the heavy strafing looks really strange there. ideally if I could animate he'd spin around the corner, but eehhhhh. i'll mess around with the sniper's animations though.

So you can use a firing animation on the torso and a running animation on the legs.

huh... good to know. i've been applying it to the entire model. used the slider on the walking, and a slider on the firing. i feel like this is kind of the same thing?

That kind of thing.
great, good to know, thanks.
since we're on topic of sequences, is there a way to blend one sequence into another?
Yup, same way you blend/tween anything else in the Motion Editor.
Okay, I've done what I can but couldn't fix the sniper strafing without SFM deleting all of my particles in that scene (??????). I used some of the things you told me to make some animations look not-so-default.
Here's the finished and submitted product:
