Turns out it comes with a pretty interesting map. By itself it is pretty small, but enjoyed the composition of the few locations. Details about the map you might want to change: -Skymap used is sky_harvest_01 with Light_environment adjusted according to developers sky list -Particles are ON (changed from dota_particle_system to info_particle_system) -Ambient creatures are ON (changed from ambient_creature to prop_dynamic) (hmm...might have deleted control points for butterflies, if they show up let me know!) Suggestions: -Copy black.vmt and black.vtf from "../materials/vgui" to "../materials/dev" and overwrite the file there. This gets rid of purple textured displacements dota maps. -Some people will probably have problems with the lightrays. There are 2 options: 1. Delete them in Hammer and recompile 2. If you changed all material files from GlobalLitSimple to VertexLitGeneric, run Notepad++ on the files in "../materials/models/effects" and change those few back to GlobalLitSimple. Experiments: Copy fow_clouds_00.vtf from ../materials/dev" to "../materials" and rename it _rt_fog_of_war.vtf Had the feeling that this helps create smoother transitions of objects in and out of fog. Download .bsp + .vmf as .7zip (~5Mb) Dropbox MEGA Pictures:Pic1 and badass boat. does it possible to port Dota 2 winter map for SFM?
Can take a look later this week. Is definitely a lot of model changing. Also if it is possible at all depends on the fact if we have static models for snowed in trees available(snow skin for static trees). Using dynamic is not an option due to the size of the map.
I appreciate this a lot. Thank you.
Are you planning to use this in one of your SFM productions?
Are you planning to use this in one of your SFM productions?
I guess that question was at you Kyuownz, as I just tinker around.
does it possible to port Dota 2 winter map for SFM?
Ported it today. Here's the thread.
Yeah I was asking him; after all he made Legend of Tusk and other stuff.
Yes, the tutorial map is very good, i don't have a project for now but i'm running some tests on both the tutorial and the winter map.
Hmm.. Can someone help me. I'm fairly new to SFM. I've got a few models ready to use, and all I needed was a map. I pasted those 2 map files .bsp and .vsf into: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\usermod\maps And I get too many errors. Please help.
Try putting them into your Dota2 folder instead. And if you don´t have Dota 2 in your SFM, that´s the problem.
Yep, that might be the problem. The fact that I dont have Dota 2 in SFM. It's my first time doing this so yep, thanks for the help but how'd I do it?
