So a month ago i thought to myself "why not play some gmod?" and i pressed play and it said "Missing Executable".
So then i tried to find a solution...
I verified game cache
I tried re-installing the game
Tried playing it from a different account
I tried re-installing hl2.exe still didn't work
And then i went into AVAST anti-virus and i see... All my files were in the quarantine and i tried to put them back and it said "files already exist overwrite?". And i'm staring at my screen and i'm like "What the f**k?"
And i chose to overwrite them and boom i was happy and filled with hope for a second and it said again "Missing Executable". And then i restarted my computer and tried it again, i tried putting it all back and re-installing the game again, didn't work.
PLEASE HELP ME I JUST WANT TO PLAY GARRY'S MOD ( I also disabled seeking an answer because i have 0 coins. I've tried contacting steam support but i thought why not contact facepunch they created the game lol )
Add the game folder into exceptions of your anti virus so it stops deleting game files for no reason.
You can also try reporting the file(s) as false positive to the AV.
